Mission
In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gives the church her mission: To make disciples and to help disciples grow into maturity. Our mission as a church is to help disciples grow. You can find out how we seek to do that throughout the week here. We also exist to see disciples added to the church–both in our community–and around the globe.
Towards that end, we want to be faithful to be salt and light in our community. We desire to build relationships in our community, as neighbors, friends, and co-workers to allow us the opportunity to share the gospel. Our mission is never something we delegate to a few in the church, but its on all of us to be a part of. Our primary means of growing disciples is not major events in the community, but by every member building relationships within and seeking to serve those in our area.
Partnerships
We also want to partner with others in this area, who are having an impact serving needs around us. For example, we support Wellspring Life Ministry and have partnered with places like the Anne Arundel Food Bank. As a church, we aslo directly support folks involved in our gospel mission around the globe — in Italy and Southeast Asia, we financially and through prayer support church planting pastors. We also support a church member who is currently serving with the missions group Pioneers in Africa.
We also recognize the great commission is nothing we can accomplish alone. We believe in partnership–in helping us as a church, and in joining together on a greater mission. We believe that churches are stronger together than in isolation. Towards that end, we are affiliated with Sovereign Grace Churches. Sovereign Grace exists to plant and care for churches. We have been strengthened as a church through our partnership and we join together to see gospel-centered churches planted around the United States and the globe.
